SHORT DESCRIPTION
Boxie Vest is an easy-going vest / slipover / cowl, whatever you might call it. It is worked seamlessly from the top down. After shoulder shaping, the front and back are separated and worked individually back and forth towards the hem. Finally side ribbons are added to all four side edges.
Boxie Vest is modified quite easily to meet your personal preferences, by changing the number of increases at shoulders and adjusting the length of the garment. You may also decide if you want to fold the collar in half and attach the edge on the inside or leave it as is to use either way, up or down.
To make your own Boxie Vest you need to know how to knit, purl, increase and pick up and knit stitches. There is a link in the pattern to a YouTube tutorial for the recommended tubular bind-off finishing and German Short Row method, but you may also decide to use some other bind-off and short row methods as well.
SIZES
1 (2, 3)
Sizing is indicative only. Choose your size to match your own preferences. Do you want to make a compact neck warmer to use under your coat? Choose a smaller size and leave side ribbons off. Do you want to use Boxie as a slipover? Choose a size that is close to your cross-shoulder measurement. Boxie would also look good as an oversized version with dropped shoulders. Then you might want to choose size 3 and perhaps make it even bigger with some extra shoulder increases and longer body length.
