This will apply to all of my patterns for the foreseeable future.

This is a time when racism in all its horrors is staring us all in the face and we need to address it in our own ways, most notably by examining it in ourselves.

A Gansy-inspired`double-diamond panel runs the length of this garter stitch shawl. Boxwood is knit on the bias in worsted weight yarn, at a larger than usual gauge, to create a large wrap that drapes. True to the designer’s predilection, Boxwood looks good on both sides. The double diamond pattern is charted only.

The Boxwood Shawl is worked on the bias, beginning with a 2 stitch cast on and increasing by one stitch every right side row. This triangular shawl is deeply bordered by garter stitch. A Gansey stitch double diamond panel runs the length of the shawl.

Gauge is measured over garter stitch after wet blocking.

Be aware that this shawl will use almost all of the 5 skeins of yarn called for. The effectiveness will not be harmed by cutting short the shawl by a few rows in order to avoid running out on your cast off row.

The yarn used is Shelridge worsted weight kettle dyed Pussy Willow colour way and the effect on garter stitch is compelling.
