CONSTRUCTION
The BOXY V NECK is worked from the top down, beginning with the back neck and then working down to the armholes. Stitches are then picked up for the front, joined at the neck and worked down to the armholes before joining in the round. The piece has customisable elements for the neckline and armholes.
SKILL LEVEL: Advanced Beginner/Intermediate
SIZE GUIDE
The BOXY V-NECK is intended to be worn with a positive ease of approximately 4 - 6 inches / 10 - 15 cm at the bust. The sizes are based on a bust circumference of approximately 28-30 (32-34) 36-38 (40-42) 44-46 (48-50) 52-54, (56-58) inches / 71-76 (81-86) 91.5-96.5 (101.5-106.5) 111.5-117 (122-127) 132-137 (142-147) cm.
Measure yourself before beginning to ensure that you choose the right size. For example: Your bust circumference is 34 + 4 = 38 inches 85 cm + 10 cm = 95 cm i.e. work a size S. If you are in between two sizes, you can choose a little less ease or more.
FINISHED GARMENT MEASUREMENTS
BUST: 34 (38) 42 (46) 50 (54) 58 (62) inches / 85 (95) 105 (115) 125 (135) 145 (155) cm finished bust measurement. Garment is intended to be worn with 4-6 inches / 10-15 cm of positive ease built in.
SUGGESTED NEEDLES
~ 3.5 mm US 4 circular needles 16, 32/40 inches / 40, 80/100 cm or size to obtain gauge.
~ 3 mm US 2.5 circular needles for I-cord
~ Spare 3 mm US 2.5 double pointed or cable needle for 3 needle bind off.
SUGGESTED YARN
Samples made in size XS.
Sample 1: Speckled Yarn: Wool and Works fingering weight Slub Yarn (90% Superwash Merino, 10% Nylon, 400 metres/437 yards, 100g), in Neon Lights. If you decide to use this yarn, 2 (2) 3 (3) 3 (4) 5 (5) skeins are required
Sample 2: White: We Are Knitters Bamboo yarn (100% Bamboo Viscose, 350 metres/ 382 yds, 100 g). If you decide to use this yarn, 2 (2) 3 (3) 4 (4) 4 (5) skeins are required.
I recommend a plant based fibre to provide a drape as seen on Sample 2, however you can use any yarn/fiber that matches the gauge.
There are video tutorials throughout the pattern to assist with various techniques.
