by Weldons
See Weldon’s Practical Knitter, 28th series.
The picture for this garment is found on page 11. The written directions on page 12 - 13.
This sweater is suitable for a boy of ten to twelve years; it comes up high in the neck, has long sleeves, and narrow collar. The body of the sweater is knit in one piece, from hem to hem. The sleeves are knitted separately and sewn in place, as well as the collar.
For a smaller garment, use 6 oz. of 4-ply fingering and size 4 needles.
This pattern features a wicker pattern textured stitch for the body of the garment. The ribbing for the sleeves and sweater is a K4, p2.
Required: 8 oz. of 6-ply best fingering wool or super 3-thread fleecy. (Today’s wool weight of DK.)
