Braid Cable Mitts
My priced patterns now have a “pay what you can” option to help maintain their financial accessibility to all people regardless of income. The original price is what I set the “real” value of my design at; those who can’t afford as much spending on non-essentials may use the code FROMEACHTOEACH to get a discount.
If you can, please also consider tipping me on my ko-fi or paypal if you enjoy my free-for-download patterns. From each according to ability, to each according to need.
As of November 7th 2020, the pattern writing has been revised for easier reading and separate chart PDFs have been added.
These simple sock yarn mitts feature an elegant braid cable and fold down cuffs. Perfect for keeping your hands warm while leaving your fingers unrestrained.
Original design uses exactly 1 skein of Premier Serenity Sock Solids in Woodsy Green -- keep your yarn tails short because you’ll probably need every bit of yardage. Currently, the thumbnail photo is Premier Serenity Sock Solids in Navy.
Feel free to play around with any sock yarn that’s at least 215 yards. This is meant to fit small adult hands after steam or wet blocking throughly, so try using a sport or even light DK weight yarn to make larger sizes.
The pink/blue/white striped pair in the pictures uses Cascade Heritage Sock yarn in White (5682), Anis (5630), and Tutu (5613). The pink and green variegated pair uses Red Heart Boutique Unforgettable in Echo, which is labeled as a standard 4/worsted but felt like a light DK.
