This bookmark was inspired by a macramé bookmark I saw on Pinterest. It can be made in at least 3 different styles and is a great gift for any book lover in your life! They are simple yet beautiful and work up very quickly.
Supplies Needed:
- Approx. 30-40 yds of 100% mercerized cotton crochet thread size 3
- 2.5 mm hook or size needed to obtain gauge
- 1 12 or 14 mm wooden bead
- Piece of cardboard, 5” (7”) wide
- Scissors, tape measure, clipboard or blocking mat (optional)
- Stay-flo liquid starch (optional)
Terminology and Abbreviations Used:
Pattern is written in US terminology.
Chain(s) - ch(s)
Fasten Off – FO
Repeat - rep
Single Crochet - sc
Skip - sk
Slip Stitch - sl st
Space(s) - sp(s)
Stitch(es) - st(s)
Gauge:
30 sts and 28 rows of Linen st pattern = 4”
I also give instructions for modifying the pattern with use of st multiples, so gauge is not terribly imperative.
Finished Measurements:
Body of bookmarks are 1.5” wide and 4.75” (7”) long. Fringe is 4”-5” in length, depending on the style you make.
There are no refunds for the purchase of my patterns. I have had my patterns tested and edited accordingly; however, there may be lingering errors as I am human. If you encounter an error, please notify me and I will make the correction and send you a new copy if necessary.
This pattern is also available on my blog at daysck.com. There is also a YouTube video to help with the most difficult portions of the pattern., including my method for blocking the body of the bookmark.
