Bralette Exercise #1
And finally, here’s the bralette I’ve been plotting to make nearly 3 weeks ago!
This is simply a crochet camisole cropped to make a bralette. It’s made with 2.2mm hook and size 10 crochet thread, to fit bust sizes 34″-36″.
Meant for the crochet improv, the pattern instructions are charted, with notes, and can be freely modified, following the basic construction. Construction starts with the bra cups, then the band that goes under the cups. The band may be crocheted in the round or in rows, with the opening in front or at the back as one please. This model has a front opening.
The band is sewn to the base of the cups, then the lace trim is added on. The straps are made separately and then sewn in place.
So, the bralette has 4 parts: cups, band, strap and trim.
What is a bralette?
A lightweight, simple design, usually an unlined, soft-cup pullover style bra, offering little or no support. The bralette may often be designed as a “boudoir bra” or as part of a camisole.
