Bram Stoker Ami with Dracula
You don’t have to be part of the vampire craze to appreciate how much Bram Stoker contributed to literature in general and horror in particular when he published Dracula back in 1897. Here’s Mr. Stoker in amigurumi form as a proud papa, holding his brainchild. The Baby Dracula is removable, so you can snuggle with him while introducing him to Anne Rice, then put him back in his cozy coffin for a restorative nap. The finished Bram Stoker is almost exactly 12” (30.5cm) tall, while Baby Drac is almost 3.5”.
Although I wouldn’t recommend this as a very first amigurumi project, it will be a straightforward experience for anyone experienced with amis. Required stitches include sl st, sc, HDC, DC, sc2tog (single crochet decrease), and a cluster st that is carefully explained in the pattern, which features almost 60 pictures, along with a couple of diagrams to be sure you feel confident with each piece.
Required extras for this ami are minimal. In addition to a G hook, you need yarn in the colors you see here, plus 6-9mm safety eyes for the baby and 15-18mm safety eyes for the author.
I have also bundled this pattern with the pattern for Mary Shelley and Baby Frankenstein. https://www.etsy.com/listing/248074399/pattern-for-founde...?
