Working with Noro yarn is always a visual treat, with its slow striping, unique color changes. But what surprised me most about Kureopatora was the textural treat! The yarn is loosely spun with a few soft thick sections, and blocking allows the fabric to lighten and bloom. For this piece, the large lace holes are framed with classic bramble stitch, creating a wrap that’s light, airy, and perfect for spring.

2015 version – 295 yds per 100 grams, 100% wool

Finished size 18 inches wide x 72 inches long

Gauge: 14 sts over 4 inches, in lace pattern, blocked

Gauge is not critical, but your fabric should be a bit loose so that blocking opens up the holes stitch pattern. My gauge before blocking was 16-17 sts over 4 inches. Pattern uses almost all of 2 balls of Kureopatora; purchase an extra ball if you’re afraid of running out!
