Bramblewood square
The Bramblewood square was a request from a customer, who loved the pattern of my Bramblewood shawl, but wished to make it into a square instead - and here it is!
I have made a few small changes, but other than that, it is pretty similar to the shawl. This will make a square blanket, pillow, or whatever your imagination can come up with.
The blanket is done in overlay mosaic from the center out, which gives the great advantage of removing all the ends you would have in normal overlay mosaic, and there for also removing the need to do a double border to hide all the ends.
The pattern contains a chart, and also full written instructions with pictures to help you.
The pattern also contains a thorough explanation of the center out technique, and a little sample pattern to teach you how it’s done.
You need 2 different colors of yarn, and you will carry them both throughout the blanket, so no cutting and no weaving in ends.
Yarn used
1 x Scheepjes whirl “Cotton candy man”
3 x Scheepjes whirlette “Liquorice”.
These are my choices, but you can of course you any yarn you like. If you use a thinner or thicker yarn, the finished size will vary, but the proportions of the pattern always stay the same.
