The brandy creek gloves are the perfect project for that special skein of gorgeous hand dyed dk weight yarn. They will knit up quickly and be the perfect accessory for cold and frosty mornings. From early morning walks to a drive in the misty hills they will keep your hands warm and your fingers free to knit.
Suggested Yarn: Knit craft and knittery DK weight yarn 100g
Suggested Needles: double pointed needles
Finished measurements: Mitt length: 7 1/2 “ (19cm) with cuff folded
Hand Circumference (un-stretched): 7” (18cm)
Techniques Used: working in the round, knitting, purling, texture, thumbhole.
The Brandy Creek Gloves are worked in the round on double pointed needles from the cuff up after a long tail cast on. It is then worked in rounds utilising an afterthought thumb.
I have included links to tutorials for both knitting in the round on double pointed needles and the afterthought thumb so this project would be great for the adventurous beginner.
Its pattern is easy to work and fun to knit using a simple combination of knit and purl stitches to create it’s lovely texture.
