This side-to-side shawl in the warm, rich colors of brandy and wine just called to me : “Brandywine River”. So I added a bridge-like stitch pattern on the side edging, and even put some Black Riders on the bridge.

Plenty of texture and variety, yet an easy pattern to follow, with charted and also written directions. And it can be made to variable sizes.
