brat hat by Tara Roberts
Why brat green?
In the summer of 2024, Charli XCX’s new album “brat” was released and featured a garish green cover. The color is electric, alive, and irreverent - perfect for the self-deprecating it-girl that embraces cringe as chic. When Kamala Harris announced her run for President, Charli posted that “kamala IS brat” and brat green was launched into 2024 politics.
Green also represents hope, health, and life, and is a symbol supporting women’s reproductive health around the world from Argentina to Ireland. It is a fitting color to revive a show of support for the idea that women’s rights are human rights.
The right of a woman to make her own decisions about her reproductive health and about her body should be hers alone. Women should have the freedom to make their own choices for themselves and be trusted to make the decision that is best.
This pattern is based on the PussyHat Project by Kat Coyle.
