Bray Tank Top
I love sharing the joy of the knitted stitch. And I love making this joy as easy as possible for knitters. I speak to knitters daily and I love helping them get to this joy. This Bray Tank Top was a desire from a knitter who popping into my yarn studio. The request came from knitters who wanted to learn how to knit in the round. They wanted a simple, easy to knit pattern to try out their first knitted in the round garment, so here it is!
A tank top is perfect to start this journey with.
While for an experienced knitter this is a super quick knit to add texture and colour to your wardrobe.
It’s knitted bottom up. I knitted that bit without thinking about it, because you can when knitting stocking stitch in the round. It’s just knit, so I picked up the knitting and just a few rounds here and there and before I knew it I had completed the first half of my tank top.
The edging is simple too, it might look like it’s I-cord or something tricky, but it isn’t, love how that knit stitch can do that, make something seem more complicated that it is.
The garment photographed is the short or cropped version. There is a longer version in the pattern for those that want a longer length.
For this pattern I used:
