Breast Cancer Awareness Triangular Lace Shawl
This listing is for the pattern only for my Pink Ribbon Breast Cancer Awareness Triangular Knitted Shawl. I designed it for this October’s Breast Cancer Awareness month. As an almost 5 year survivor of breast cancer myself, I owe my confinued life to advances that have been made in breast cancer treatment, and am very grateful. It seems that everywhere I turn though, I am always hearing about newly diagnosed friends, loved ones, family members, and acquaintances. This shawl would make a great gift for a breast cancer patient or survivor. I made the one pictured above in Cascade’s Ultra Fine Pima Cotton in a vibrant shade of pink called “Primrose,” but any fine, DK or sportweight yarn would work well. It is a terrific gift for anyone going through treatment or who is a survivor. I designed it with a zig-zag lace to apear as many pink ribbons (breast cancer patients) all over the body of the shawl. It is designed in a traditional triangular shape, and is edged in pink swirls that flow naturally from the “body” of ribbons. It can be machine washed, delicate cycle separately, then pinned and blocked flat back to shape with rust-proof t-pins and left to air dry 24 hours.
