Breezeway
This casual A-line skirt is a great spring and summer wardrobe basic. The body of the skirt is crocheted in the round from the waistband to above the knee in a linked double crochet stitch which creates a solid but flexible fabric. The edging is worked in an openwork pattern of arches and diamonds, creating a subtly scalloped hem. This pattern was originally published in Inside Crochet magazine.

Note: yarn shown usually knits at 20-24 sts to 4” in Stocking Stitch

Note to crocheters outside the UK using the pattern in Inside Crochet magazine: “treble crochet” in the UK means the same as “double crochet” in the US, and “double crochet” in the UK means “single crochet” in the US. The Ravelry download available from Kira K Designs uses American terms.
Errata:
The skirt pattern published in Inside Crochet had the wrong finished dimensions. The correct dimensions are:
Waist: 28”(32”, 36”, 40”, 44”, 48”)
Hips: 36”(40”, 44”, 48”, 52”, 56”)
Hem: 46”(50”, 54”, 58”, 62”, 66”)
The pattern published in Inside Crochet is missing a ch3 in round 7. The round should read:
Round 7: ch1, 1dc into first dc, 1dc into next 3ch arch, ch3, skip 1dc, 1dc into next dc, ch3, 1dc into next 3ch arch, 1dc into next dc, 1dc into next 3ch arch, ch3, skip 1dc, 1dc into next dc, repeat from to last 3ch arch, ch3, 1dc into 3ch arch, sl st to first dc to join.
The stitch diagram published in Inside Crochet is given for working flat rather than in the round, and there is a mistake in row 7. If you have a copy of the magazine, please e mail me at kirakdesigns@gmail.com to get a new diagram.
