Brentrelac is related to entrelac knitting. Brentrelac units are worked with brioche stitches. As typical for brioche, the bandanna is reversible, and the fabric does not curl at the edges.

This triangular small scarf is started at lowest corner and worked up towards the long bind off edge. Scarf is built with tiers of brentrelac units. Size is easily customizable by adding as many tiers as preferred.

Being familiar with both entrelac and brioche knitting is helpful with this pattern. The pattern has no technique tutorials, but has a detailed photo to describe the construction of the shawl. Pattern uses loop cast-on and has picked up stitches.

Best yarns for this type of accessory are either self striping, gradient changing or variegated yarn that blend changing color tiers of units into a colorful result.
