Bres Mitts
About
Bres Mitts are a part of my Green Man Collection; a group of accessories designed to coordinate, with a cohesive green man theme. This pattern takes the leafy cable from the main squeeze and makes it the focal point of your ensemble.
I would love it if you would tag your finished mitts and works in progress on social media with one or more of the following hashtags:
#bresmitts
#knitworkdesignstudio
The pattern is primarily written, however, charts are included in both the mitts pattern and the mini-ebook BresHatNHands.
It’s important to note that the instructions were written for the two circular needle method of knitting in the round, however, the same results can be achieved with the magic loop method as written. DPNs may also be used but should only be attempted by a very advanced knitter willing to revise the pattern to work from.
Yarn and Gauge:
I hope a note here will hopefully get ahead of some questions. Although Tosh DK is labeled as a DK, and often found in the DK section in yarn shops, the weight to yardage ratio is such that it may be used interchangeably with worsted weight. And that’s what I’ve done here.
Gauge
Reverse Stockinette: 5.5 sts x 7 rows = 1 inch
disclaimer: sizing is approximate and dependent on gauge. Work a gauge swatch to determine the correct needle size prior to making your hat
Yarn
Worsted or heavy DK, all sizes can be made using less than one full skein. (100/115g each)
madelinetosh Tosh DK(225yds/115g) –
Colorway: Meet Me in the Basement
Contributions
Patterns are not written in a vacuum, and I couldn’t do this without the help of a literal tribe of people. People who test knitted, people who knit samples, others who modeled, tech edited, copy edited, provided resources for a variety of information, people who held my hand, wiped my tears and assuaged my anxiety, people who took photos. Heartfelt thanks go out to each and every one of them for whatever assistance they provided, intentional or otherwise.
