This pattern consists of 12 rows repeated 6 times on different size needles. Although adjusting the needles sizes throughout the pattern is not necessary, I do use this technique because the final result is a cowl that is slightly funnel shaped. When worn, the funnel effect produces a drape that shows off the pattern nicely.

This pattern is a good one for the new lace knitter looking to practice simple techniques. The pattern, although 12 rows long, only has one row that includes yarn overs and decreases (SSK and k2tog). The rest of the pattern calls for knits and purls. Using markers between the repeats makes it easy to keep track of stitches.

This pattern can also be adjusted for different gauges, yarn weights and desired length by adjusting the number of cast on stitches by 11.

Supplies needed for this pattern:
100g dk yarn
size 5, 6, 7 circular needs. (16 inch long)
13 stitch markers
1 tapestry needle
