These bloomers are knitted in one piece, with front and back tabs initially worked separately, then joined to work in the round.

These are deliberately designed to have a soft, ribbed, fold-over waistband, but if you prefer a closer fit, you could fold waistband inwards and sew, to create an elastic channel.
