This hat is a traditional deep-fitted style bonnet, providing cover for the ears and back of the neck, knitted using a series of increases and decreases for shaping, with I-cord straps.
This stitch gives the hat lots of stretch, so it will fit the sizes given without stretch, but will fit beyond this age if you are happy with a closer fitting look.
