You will be need 2 of 50g skein (50 gr = 75 m) of Aran weight yarn (American Size – Worsted) and short (40cm) circular knitting needles:
For child size - 3.5 mm (US 4) & 4.5 mm (US 7)
For adult size - 4 mm (US 6) & 5 mm (US 8)
or size needed to get 17 sts x 22 rows in stocking st = 10 x 10 cm.

You will need to know how to work in rounds on circular needles and
k (knit)
p (purl)
k2tog (knit 2 stitches together)
k3tog (knit 3 stitches together)
p2tog (purl 2 stitches together)

Size (approx. head circumference):
Child Size 50-52 cm
Adult Small (S) 54-55 cm
Adult Medium (M) 57-58 cm

Depth (approx. length of the hat):
Child Size 21 cm
Adult (S) 22 cm
Adult (M) 24 cm
