Bride and Groom Gnomes
These two cute little gnomes are a nice quick and easy knit with no complicated stitches or shaping.
Ideal for a wedding or anniversary gift.
The materials needed are :
I used an unbranded DK white and grey yarn which had a glittery thread through it, but if you are unable to find similar to this, just use plain white and grey, or colours of your choice.
DK /8ply/ worsted weight yarn in the following colours and quantities:-
White = less than 20g
Grey = less than 20g
Flesh = less than 20g
Scraps of:-
Red
Black
Yellow
Light green
Medium green
Note: DK yarn has approximately
320 yards (280 mtrs) in a 100g ball.
A pair of size 3mm (UK 11/US 3) needles. Used throughout
A circle of stiff card 1.5/8th of an inch (40mm) in diameter
Fiberfill
The abbreviations used are :
k = knit
p = purl
k2tog/p2tog = knit/purl the next two stitches together (decreases 1 st)
Ss = stockinette stitch (knit one row, purl one row)
st/sts = stitch/stitches
YF = wrap the yarn around the needle clockwise
inc1 = (increase) by knitting into front and back of same stitch. PLEASE NOTE: if you use any other method of increasing, your stitch count will not work out.
