This was a Mystery Knit Along for an elongated (very elongated) semi-circular, almost crescent shaped slightly asyemetric wrap utilizing a new. easy to work knitting technique I have been developing over the past several months.
The MKAL is complete, but the pattern may be purchased and people may continue to join in.
If you are new to Mystery Knit-Alongs (MKAL), let me explain it a bit. It is a fun game where you knit a project that you have not seen, and you knit it in stages as parts of the pattern are released over time.
The pattern was released in stages, and each stage was called a “clue” … but there are no mysteries to solve in the “clues” other than to knit with faith and confidence that I as the designer am leading you down a favorable path with rich rewards along the way and at the end, a beautiful project you will love.
This MKAL, as you are already aware, is for a wrap I designed and knit this inter. I have completed the shawl myself and I have to say it was the most enjoyable knitting I have ever done and I am more pleased with the beauty of my finished shawl than with any other piece I have ever knit. I hope yours is a similar experience.
You are going to learn a new knitting technique I have developed. It is something I have been experimenting with for several months and have tested up one side and down the other—so to speak--until I came up with the most lovely methods of using it I could figure out.
Though it is a new technique, it is easy and relaxing and does not require any special skills. It is a project you can work on while watching television or visiting with friends at a coffee shop, and it is flexible in that you may follow my instructions exactly, or easily and comfortably change them as you go…whatever you are most comfortable with.
