Bridegroom bookmark
Use this pattern to make a bookmark for the men in a wedding party. It would make a fantastic gift for the groom to remember the day he became a husband. His hand’s clasp together to showcase the wedding band that symbolizes his love for his bride.
The edwardian formal attire includes tails and a top hat. His clasped hands can hang outside the book to remind any reader that there is more to read. His three-dimensional head hangs outside the book to make it easy to find the readers place.
The materials needed are size 10 crochet thread:
15 yards peach (or choice of skin color)
17 yards grey (or choice of pants, hatband and lapel color)
35 yards black (or choice of coat, shoe, bow-tie, eye and hat color)
5 yards white (or choice of Groom’s shirt, collar and cuff color)
1 yard of goldenrod (or choice of boutonniere flower color)
Small amount red (or choice of mouth color) could also use embroidery floss
Also needed: 1 skein black brown DMC #3371 (or choice of hair color) embroidery floss
small amount of thin gold braid or metallic gold crochet thread for ring
Small amount of polyester fiberfill.
Tapestry needle
Boye Steel Crochet hook size 1 (2.25mm) for working crochet thread
Steel Crochet hook size 7 (1.65mm) for working boutonniere (optional)
Washable fabric glue.
The crochet stitches include, sc, hdc, dc, tr, and front loop and back loop work. The pattern includes complete instructions with picture tutorials. This includes instructions and a picture tutorial on making another type of boutonniere.
Finished Size: 3 inches (7.5cm) wide by 8 ¾ inches (22.22cm) long.
This would make a wonderful wedding gift or special anniversary gift for that special groom.
