This little girl’s tunic is knitted using DK weight yarn from the top down, but with neck shaping, including casting on and knitting in the flat until the neck is shaped, then joining to work in the round for the rest of the yoke. After the dress is divided for body and sleeves, a pin tuck is added and the skirt is worked in a simple lace and bound off with a scalloped lace hem. The elbow-length sleeves are worked in simple stockinette and the neckline is picked up, knit, folded over and sewn.

Gauge in Medium Needle Size and Stockinette:
unblocked 22 st/10 cm (4 inches), 34 rows/10 cm. Be sure to swatch in the round since that is how most of the tunic is knitted.
