Bright Rose Soaker (Diaper Cover)
With these instructions you will be able to knit up a soaker or shorties that will fit most children from newborn through potty learning! They have unbelievable stretch, and you can fold down the rise to fit the smaller babies. You could even make longies if you like, and the ribbing will make them wear like leggings.
Bright Rose Soakers have finished measurements of approximately 14 inch waist, 18 inch rise, and 6 inch leg, with a 1 to 1.5 inch inseam. When fully stretched, the waist is 28 inches, and the leg is 20 inches. Gauge is 6.5 stitches per inch, and 6 rows per inch over 2x2 ribbing.
Supplies Needed:
(2) 5 oz balls of worsted weight, 100% wool yarn (approx. 200 yards)
one Main Color - MC (approx 130 yards)
one Contrasting Color - CC (approx 60 yards)
(If you want the soaker to be all one color, then one ball of yarn will be enough.)
(2) sets of size 7 circular needles
pair of size 7 double pointed needles
stitch markers
darning (tapestry) needle
(4) point protectors
Advanced beginner pattern, knit in the round, starting at the waist. Techniques include 2x2 ribbing, kitchener stitch, and picking up stitches along the gusset.
