Brigid Beret
This lovely beret was developed to add volume without bulk for a chic city girl who wanted to cover her natural curls without crushing them.
The design is worked from the brim to the crown with a nice, tight, yet super-stretchy ribbing to hold in those curls if you choose to tuck all your hair inside. The weight of the acrylic-wool blend yarn is a key design element, it is light and won’t weigh the hat down and crush a great hairstyle, and it provides excellent drape to keep the bereet from appearing too oversized.
You’ll use cast on, join to work in the round, knit, purl, knit front/back (make 1 increase) and knit 2 together (decrease 1) for this pattern.
I appreciate your feedback and welcome pattern questions. My aim is to constantly improve as I develop patterns that yield great projects that are fun to create, offer durability, easy-to-follow instructions and terrific-looking end results! Your feedback and project photos mean a lot to me and the community here on Ravelry, so keep ‘em coming!
Thank you, and Knit Happy,
Wendy Ann
