ABOUT THE PATTERN

The Brioche Blur Cowl is a moebius cowl knit in the round and grafted together using garter Kitchener stitch for a seamless finish. This design was inspired by my friend’s version of my Indulgent Brioche Cowl design, which she knit using handspun! This cowl uses two colors and three stitch patterns. The two colors are “blurred” together in the middle section of the cowl, creating a beautiful mélange effect. Bonus: if you enjoy the stitch patterns as much as I did, this comfort knit goes by in a blur!
You start with a provisional CO, followed by one-color garter stitch, two-color alternating brioche stitch and then one-color syncopated brioche stitch. A joy to knit and to wear, I hope you enjoy it as much as I do!

A photo tutorial is included to demonstrate the technique for grafting the cowl.

SIZE
One size: 10.5” width by 27” circumference

YARN INFO
Fingering or sport weight yarn in two colors, one skein (100g) each.

Yarn A: 100g

Yarn B: 100g

In my sample, I used my own handspun yarn, which was a sport/light DK weight. I suggest using a woolen-spun yarn like Purl Soho Good Wool or De Rerum Natura Ulysse. Testers were also successful with fingering weight yarns.

Yarn Used

Yarn A: Handspun Tapestry on Mixed BFL (Nest Fiber), light DK weight (342 yds/100g)

Yarn B: Handspun undyed CVM, sport weight (373 yds/100g)

Sample used 322 yds (94g) of Yarn A and 309 yds (83g) of Yarn B.
