This scarf is a combination of 4 Brioche patterns of intermediate difficulty level. It was my first design try, and I developed it as an exercise to practice my “Brioche stitch counting skills”, which caused me problems at the start. Its’ “sister” pattern called “Brioche Endless Tree Hat” is also available here.

I have tried to explain each step of the knitting process in detail, but please contact me if you like additional help with the pattern.

The scarf is knitted in 2 halves starting from the “tree” end, which are joined at the “plain rib” end when completed. The scarf ends form a tapered curve due to the way in which the increased and decreased stitches warp the fabric, and are slightly wider than the centre.
The pattern includes written instructions and charts for each section.

I used 2 variegated yarns in a machine washable quality, but it is equally beautiful in solid yarns or in a combination of both; I find that yarn with an amount of “bounce” (such as wool) or with a “halo” (like mohair) work best for this design.

I used 1 1/2 skeins in Hayfield “Spirit” in DK quality for the scarf shown (3/4 of a skein of each colour), which is 203 cm in length and 18 cm in width.

Dieser Schal besteht aus einer Kombination von 4 zweifarbigen Patentmustern,. Dies war mein erstes eigenes Design, und ich entwarf den Schal als “Patentstich-Zahlübung”, was ich anfangs sehr verwirrend fand!

Ich habe versucht, jeden Schritt des Strickens ausführlich zu erklären, aber bitte kontaktieren Sie mich jederzeit, falls ich Ihnen helfen kann.

Der Schal ist in 2 Hälften gestrickt und beginnt am “Baumende”, und wird zum Schluss am “Rippenende” verbunden. Die Schalenden haben eine Kurvenform, da die Zunahmen und Abnahmen im Patent die Maschen nach außen verschieben. Er ist etwas schmaler im Rippenblock, was die Bäume schön aufzeigt.
Die Anleitung beinhaltet schriftliche Anweisungen und Strickschriften mit Symbolen.

Ich habe Garne mit buntem Farbverlauf benutzt, aber das Muster ist ebenso schön in zwei einfarbigen Garnen oder in einer Mischung von beiden. Ich benötigte 1 1/2 Knäuel von Hayfield “Spirit” in DK Qualität. Der hier abgebildete Schal ist 203 cm lang und 18 cm breit.
