Kitty Cat Hat Pattern!

I fell in love with brioche knitting the moment I laid eyes on it, although I was not brave enough to try it myself until almost a year later. Imagine my surprise and delight when I discovered how truly simple the basics of brioche are! If you know how to yarn over, k2tog, and p2tog, you can master the basics of brioche!

Originally, I planned on putting pompoms on the ends of this hat. Then, when trying it on, I was surprised to see a kitty looking back at me in the mirror! The brioche stitch creates a squashy, denser fabric that makes the kitty ears stand purrfectly on your head! There are a gazillion ways to alter this pattern and make it your own! Check out the notes for tips and tricks and some fun ideas on how to make your purrfect kitty hat!

Stitches to know: Knit, Purl, YOS, bk2tog, bp2tog

Yarn:
Shown knit in 100-300 Yards of Worsted Weight Yarn in two different colors.
Sample shown using one skein of Bumblebee Acres Farm “Outlander Inspired Colorway” in “Claire” and one of “Harry Potter Inspired Colorway” in “I’ll Await Your Owl” Coquette Sock yarn Doubled to create a plush, worsted yarn.

I do, however, envision a different movement with this hat. Knit it in rainbows. Knit it in purples. Knit it to support all equal rights! And please knit it in ethically sourced yarns!
