Brioche Rasta Hat
Warm and fluffy brioche rib stitch makes a delightful winter hat.
This hat is very stretchy and will fit a wide range of head sizes, from pre-teen to adult.
Worked using only one skein of Malabrigo’s super-bulky Rasta yarn, this hat works up quickly, making it great for gift-knitting or for a quick weekend project!
Includes instructions for both ladies’ and men’s versions.
IF YOU NEED HELP WITH THE TRANSITIONS BETWEEN ROUNDS:
Round 2 ends with a sl-yo, so it has a yarnover. Round 3 begins with a sl-yo. So to go from Round 2 to Round 3, you have to bring the yarn to the front, slip the last stitch of round 2, put the yarn back to the back over the needle, then pass your marker over (if you’re using one), then bring the yarn to the front again, slip the first stitch of round 3, then bring the yarn all the way around the needle so it’s in front, ready to purl, but crossing over the slipped stitch, then continue round 3, starting with a brP.
With me so far? At this point, you have a yo crossing the last slipped stitch of rnd 2 and the first slipped st of rnd 3.
Then at the end of Round 3, you will brP the last stitch-and-yarnover, slip the marker if you use one, then put the yarn to the back between the needle tips as for normal knitting/purling and immediately brK the first stitch-and-yarnover of Round 2.
