This scarf is knit in 2-colour Brioche. The 18 cm wide shawl consists of one pattern block; the scarf can be widened by knitting additional blocks.

One skein per colour is sufficient for one scarf (as shown here), but any yarn of DK quality is suitable. I find that yarns with depth and elasticity (such as wool or wool mixes) are most suitable.

In the yarns shown here the scarf has a deeply textured and realistic “bark structure”, is very warm, and can be worn from both sides. A wool & silk mix for example will result in a cool, more flexible piece.

In my opinion this pattern is of intermediate difficulty level, but some experience in Brioche knitting is advisable. I have included all instructions I deemed important to explain every step of the make, but if you have any questions about the pattern, please contact me here and I love to help.

Dieser Schal ist in zweifarbigem Patent (auch Brioche genannt) gestrickt. Die gesamte Schalbreite besteht aus einem Musterblock und ist 18 cm breit, und das Muster kann nach Wunsch durch zusätzliche Musterblöcke verbreitert werden.

Ein Strang pro Farbe ist ausreichend für einen Schal in der hier angegebenen Größe. Falls gewünscht können auch alternative Garne in DK Qualiät verwendet werden; meiner Meinung nach eignen sich Garne mit Elastizität am besten (Wolle oder Wollgemisch).

In den hier abgebildeten Garnen hat der Schal eine realistische und tiefe “Rindenstruktur”, ist sehr warm, und kann von beiden Seiten getragen werden. Bei Verwendung von z.B. einem Wolle/Seide Gemisch wird Ihr Schal kühl und bei weitem flexibler.
