I used 2 highly contrasting colorways of Universal Deluxe Worsted yarn, however, any type of worsted weight yarn will do just fine. You just need a skein of each colorway to make this pattern. My finished cowl weighs approximately 80g but I used more of my contrast colorway than of the main colorway. I think a 50g hank of each colorway SHOULD be fine if you want to do yours with small hanks. You might be playing a little yarn chicken with your contrast colorway though just FYI.
