BRIOCHED WING is an asymmetrical triangular shawl, knit from tip to side. It features garter sections and brioche short row wedges. It can be knit in multiple color versions - from 2 colors to crazy multicolor variations. Your stash and imagination is the limit.

MATERIALS:

Yarn:
A - appr. 210 m (230 yds) of fingering weight yarn - this is the front color in brioche section
B - appr. 660 m (720 yds) of fingering weight yarn - this is the color of the garter section and the background color in brioche section

The 2 color sample is shown in Miss Knitski Macarena’s Twisted Sister (365 m/100 g) in Pearl (gray) and Kamasutra (orange-pink), the 3 color sample is shown in Miss Knitski Twisty Merino (400 m/100 g) in More Wine (deep red), Pearl (gray) and Midsummer Night (deep blue), and in Malabrigo Sock (402 m/100 g) in Matisse Blue, Sabiduria and Fucsia.

Needles:
3,5mm (4 US) 80 cm circular needles; the size can be adjusted to meet the gauge.

Gauge:
10 cm x 10 cm - 23 stitches x 44 rows in garter stitch, blocked
10 cm x 10 cm - 22 stitches x 23 rows in brioche stitch, blocked

The gauge is not critical, however big difference may affect the yardage and shawl size. If your brioche stitch is significantly looser than your garter stitch, consider changing the needle size (take smaller needles) for the brioche section.

Other:
Stitch marker, tapestry needle. An additional 3,5mm circular needle for the 2 needles brioche short rows technique (not required)

MEASUREMENTS (unstretched):
Length (across the top edge) - 160 cm
Depth - 62 cm
