Are you curious about brioche knitting, which produces a lofty and soft fabric with lots of texture? Two color-brioche knitting gets a lot of love and I just couldn’t wait to knit this motif again. Shhhh, I’ve already knitted an interesting blanket using this motif …
This shawl is the perfect every day accessory! The finished shawl will become a much loved warm and cozy winter wardrobe staple.
Set off your favorite colorful or variegated yarn on one side with contrasting background color on the other side. The result is like two different shawls because the fabric is completely reversible. Just wrap your shawl under you neck and be a fashionista!
BriocheFlutter Shawl is an asymmetrical shawl which is knitted sideways from the small corner to the wide edge increasing along one edge, block by block.
This large and cosy triangle tips shawl is knitted from corner to corner in graduated columns of chevrons worked in two-color brioche stitch. It begins with just one tip and grows to its widest point The simple design is elevated by the addition of contrast color rustic wool. Start with a small cast on and watch as the fabric gradually grows into an expansive wingspan. The pattern can easily be adjusted to any size by simply adding or reducing repeat sections. The entire shawl is worked in an easy and meditative back and forth brioche stitch pattern. WS rows are worked with no increases or decreases. For brioche newbies, BriocheFlutter Shawl could be your first brioche shawl, as the pattern is filled with detailed explanations and lots of video links that show all the stitches and helpful hints. It’s also pleasant to knit since there is no need to count the stitches on every row.
The pattern can be easily adapted to the amount of available yarn: knit-until-you-run-out-of-yarn. The pattern includes both fully written row-by-row instructions as well as charted instructions so you can choose which you prefer to work from.
