BRIOLETTE
A briolette is an elongated, faceted gemstone cut popular in the Victorian era. The Briolette bag is a totebag to carry your knitting projects in when headed for fairs and knit nights and it will make you stand out for sure!
The totebag is knit in one piece, with no sewing. If you use a soft cotton yarn that tends to stretch (like the CaMaRose yarn) it’s a good idea to line your bag with a simple woven cotton fabric (instructions included). If you want a totebag without lining, use a sturdier cotton yarn (see suggested yarn below).
SIZE
Approximately 34 cm wide x 40 cm high in sample totebag, laid flat and excluding straps.
GAUGE
- Ca 18 sts x 32 rows = 10 x 10 cm in garter stitch on 4 mm needles.
- 1 diamond is 9.5 cm wide x 4.5 cm high without blocking. A different gauge will result in a different size bag and may affect the amount of yarn used.
