In the early morning sunrise over the lake, as the first rays of light crest the mountain, the warm pink light melds with the blue and grey of the water and skies. This shawl is perfect for knitting while you’re half-asleep in semi-darkness waiting for the sunrise, and will keep you warm for many future early mornings to come long after you’ve finished.

Formed from the top-down, this shawl increases on the wings and center creating a triangle shawl shape. The shawl’s construction utilizes garter stitch and yarn-overs to create eyelets. The finished shawl approximately measures: 66 inch (168 cm) wingspan and 27 inch (68 cm) length at the center.

Four skeins (680 yards) of worsted weight or Aran weight yarn in three colors as follows:

Color 1 – two skeins or 340 yards
Color 2 – one skein or 170 yards
Color 3 – one skein or 170 yards

Suggested yarn: Lion Brand yarn, Vanna’s Choice (Aran, 100% Acrylic 170 yards / 100 grams) in Silver Heather, Silver Blue, and Rose
