In the second series of her time travels, Claire experiences the lush life of 18th century Paris. Her opulent brocade robe inspired me to create this cozy oversize boxy cardigan, with drop shoulders, ample elbow-long sleeves, and back pleats for extra decadent volume. The colourwork panels in the back and down the fronts evoke the flower print of the character’s silk robe in a modern and graphic way.
Brocart is worked flat with modular construction. Sleeves are worked in the round. All edges are finished with neat kitchener stitch grafted hems.
