Size US 1 (2.25mm) dpns and straight needles, or circular needles if using the magic loop method (or size needed to obtain gauge).

Gauge
16 sts x 20 rows = 2″ (5 cm) square in Stockinette stitch after blocking.
16 sts x 26 rows = 2″ (5 cm) square in broken rib pattern after blocking.
