“I was born in a big grey cloud
Screaming out a love song.
All the broken chords and unnamed cries
What a place to come from.” -Florence and the Machine

This shawl, while somewhat inspired by heavy lyrics, is such a treat to knit! Wide and cozy and everything an early autumn shawl should be, Broken Chords offers you that joyful combination of mindless and engaging knitting.

You Will Need:
+/- 680 yds (631 m) of Fingering-Weight Yarn in Two or Three Colors 460 yds MC, 200 yds CC, and ~20 yds AC
• Pictured:
-(Main Color) Yarn Ink Merino/Nylon Fingering (4-ply; 75% Superwash Merino/25% Nylon/Polyamide; 463 yds (423 m)/100g (3.53 oz); Shown in colorway ‘Quarry Light’. (~460 yds used)
-(Counter Color) Bumblebirch Wellspring (3-ply; 100% Superwash Merino Wool; 490 yds (448 m)/100g (3.53 oz); Shown in colorway ‘Mushroom’. (~200 yds used)
-(Accent Color) Knitted Wit Victory Sock (4-ply; 80% Superwash Merino/20% Nylon/Polyamide; 420 yds (384 m)/113 g (3.99 oz); Shown in colorway ‘Shandanowhitz’ (~10 - 20 yds used)

NOTE: The main body of the shawl is knit in MC, with a wide CC border and AC for bind off. However, if you run short of yarn for one section, the design is such that you may change colors at any point.
