These are the only stitches used to make this Cowl:

Long Tail Cast on or Cable Cast on, your preference
K - Knit
P - Purl
YO - Yarnover
K2TOG - Knit two Together
Bind Off

You will be expected to know how to knit with two colors, switching the colors every other row and carrying the unused color along as you knit. This is very easy and if you look on You Tube, KnitPurlHunter has a video that will help you with that technique.
