Brolly
I wanted to make a pretty, fun little skirt, perfect for swirling and twirling your way through Spring and Summer.
Beginning at the hemline with a beautiful Parasol lace pattern, you then change to a pleated pattern before creating the hip and waist shaping.
A little more concentration at the beginning leads to easy, breezy knitting to finish your skirt!
This is an advanced beginner/intermediate pattern. You need to be able to work lace patterns, and make decreases for shaping.
Finished Sizes
Waist circumference 25 (28, 30 ½, 33, 35, 38 ½, 42)” / 63.5 (71, 77.5, 84, 89, 98, 107) cm /
53 (57 ½, 62, 66 ¼, 70 ½, 75, 79 ½)” / 134.5 (146, 157.5, 168.5, 179, 190.5, 202) cm wide at hemline
(If you are between sizes, I recommend going with the larger size, you can always cinch in the waist.)

Needles
Size US 5 / 3.75 mm circular needles in appropriate length for your size, or size needed to obtain gauge
Gauge
20 sts and 32 rows = 4” / 10 cm in Stockinette stitch and Pilsener Pleating pattern
Pattern Notes
- Skirt is knit seamlessly in one piece from the bottom up. First the lace border is worked, then you work the pleating pattern. Decreases start in the stockinette section and are worked up to the waistband.
- There are two options for completing the waistband, you can do either a simple eyelet row and add a drawstring, or you may do an encased waistband with hidden elastic.
