Bronek is a baby blanket designed to express love and affection to a very special babyboy called Bronisław and to his parents.

The blanket is quite easy to knit and uses just basic lace stitches, the pattern is repetitive and soon becomes intuitive. Bronek is reversible, which is an important feature in a blanket.

The lace pattern is done on RS while the WS is a combination of knit and purl stitches.

The size depends on the number of repeats of the pattern. You can also customize the blanket by using different yarns and needle sizes.

Yarn – fingering, sport or DK.
My green blanket is done in Drops Safran, 100% cotton, 5 ply, sportweight (50g = 175yds / 160m) on US 2 ½ - 3mm needles and I used almost 6 skeins to obtain a blanket that measures 28 x 33” / 71 x 84cm blocked.
The ombre Bronek is done in Kokonki ReCotton, 100% cotton, fingering (100g = 459yds / 420m) on US 2 – 2,75mm needles and I used 1093yds / 1000m to obtain a blanket that measures 31 x 34” / 78 x 87cm blocked.

Needles – according with the yarn you choose, your knitting style (loose or tight) and how tight you want the blanket to be.

Gauge – 22 sts x 30 rows = 4 x 4” / 10 x 10cm in stockinette for the green Bronek and 24 sts x 32 rows = 4 x 4” / 10 x 10cm in stockinette for the ombre one. It is not crucial to obtain the gauge but it will influence the size of the blanket.

Supplies - stitch markers, tapestry needle to weave in yarn ends, rustproof pins for blocking or blocking wires (optional).

Kocyk jest dość prosty do wydziergania, używane są podstawowe ściegi ażurowe, wzór jest powtarzalny i szybko staje się intuicyjny. Kocyk ładnie wygląda z obu stron, co jest jego dużym atutem, nie trzeba się koncentrować, aby wyeksponować właściwą stronę.
Elementy ażurowe wzoru są robione zawsze na prawej stronie robótki, lewa strona natomiast to kombinacja oczek prawych i lewych.
Rozmiar zależy od ilości powtórzeń wzoru oraz od grubości włóczki, z której zdecydujesz się dziergać.

Włóczka – dowolnej grubości.
Bronek ombre jest zrobiony z Kokonka ReCotton, 1000m, 4 nitki, na drutach 2,75mm, zblokowany kocyk ma wymiary 78 x 87cm.
Zielony Bronek jest zrobiony na drutach 3mm z 6 motków bawełny Safran Dropsa, po zblokowaniu wymiary wynoszą 71 x 84cm.

Druty – dobrane do włóczki, kocyk należy dziergać średnio luźno.

Dodatkowo potrzebne – markery (jeśli ich używasz), igła do wciągnięcia nitek, druty lub szpilki do blokowania (opcjonalnie)
