Traditional Aran elements get a contemporary lift from a vented hi-lo hem with double-deep ribbing at the back. Bronwyn is chock full of knitterly details: circular construction gives way to a seamed raglan yoke for added structure, tubular ribbing ensures durability and elasticity at the edges, and the cable motifs are thoughtfully aligned to help you memorize the pattern and avoid miscrosses. The fit is slightly oversized with a straight torso balanced by narrow sleeves; choose a size that will allow for movement over your hips. Use a classic neutral color to wear with anything — the sample is knit in Woodsmoke — or consider changing the look entirely by splashing out with a bright hue like Hayloft or Tartan.
Construction
The ribbings for the front and back are worked separately then joined together, and the body is worked in the round to the armholes. The body is divided at the armholes and front and back are worked separately. The sleeves are worked in the round to the armholes, with the caps worked flat. The neckband is picked up and worked after garment assembly.

One each 24” and 32” circular needles and one set of DPNs, three sizes smaller than Size A
Suggested Size: 3¾ mm (US 5)
Size C (optional; for Tubular Cast On only)
One 32” circular needle and one set of DPNs, one size smaller than Size B
Suggested Size: 3½ mm (US 4)
32” circular needle can be used instead of DPNs if using the Magic Loop method for working small circumferences in the round (e.g., Sleeves).
Note: If you have adjusted the needle size to obtain the correct gauge, it may or may not be necessary to make a matching adjustment to the needle size used for Tubular Cast On due to variance in individual work. You may wish to test your chosen cast-on method on your swatch.
