Brooklyn Bridge Scarf
Pattern description
Like many thousands of Brooklynites before me, I have made the journey in and out of Manhattan more times than I can count. While I’m thankful for a zippy subway system, there’s something monumental about making the journey above ground by walking across the Brooklyn Bridge. The first time I did it, I stood beneath the huge stone pylons in awe. How many people had touched these stones? How many people had passed, just like me, on their way home, or had traveled the globe just to stand there? How many petticoats, spats, love beads, berets, down vests, or jeans had gone by? The inspiration for this scarf is easy to see: an awesome project to match to one of the coolest places to be… ever. Best of all, done in double knit fabric, where the inverse of an image appears on the other side of the fabric, this scarf gives you two Brooklyn Bridges: the day view on one side, and the night view on the other.
