Spinning pinwheels dance across this asymmetrical triangular shawl, accented with optional seed beads. A combination of lace and cables decorate this elegant accessory.
This shawl begins with a few stitches and grows to the opposite edge. Its shape is created by increasing every other row along the top edge.
Gauge is not critical for this pattern, but using a different yarn weight or needles will affect the size of the finished shawl and the amount of yarn needed.
Size:
60.5” / 153.5 cm wingspan and 25.5” / 65 cm deep at its deepest point
Yarn:
800 yds / 731.5 m of fingering weight yarn
Sample shown in SweetGeorgia Yarns Tough Love Sock (425 yds / 388 m per 4 oz / 115 g skein; 80% superwash merino, 20% nylon) in Dried Lavender (2 skeins)
Needles:
US size 3 / 3.25 mm circular needles, at least 24” / 60 cm in length
Gauge:
26 sts x 36 rows per 4” / 10 cm in Stockinette Stitch after blocking
Exact gauge is not critical but will affect the size of the finished shawl and the amount of yarn needed.
Notions:
2 cable needles; 55 g of 6/0 seed beads (optional); 1.25 mm crochet hook (or smaller) for beading; yarn needle
