Brushstrokes Scarf
This simple crochet scarf pattern alternates rows of herringbone double crochet and single crochet to create a stitch pattern that slants like brushstrokes. This pattern is available in four child and adult sizes. The child size pattern is a one-skein project.This pattern is part of the 2022 Scarf of the Month Crochet Along with Oombawka Design Crochet and The Stitchin’ Mommy.

Child: 3.75” (9.5 cm) wide x 50” (127 cm) long.
Teen/Adult Skinny Scarf: 3.75” (9.5 cm) wide x 60” (152.5 cm) long.
Teen/Adult Standard Scarf: 5” (13 cm) wide x 60” (152.5 cm) long.
Teen/Adult Super Scarf: 8” (20.5 cm) wide x 72” (183 cm) long.
Materials
King Cole Acorn Aran yarn (80% acrylic/20% wool, 3.5 oz/100 g, 216 yd/198 m) – 1 (2, 2, 4) skein(s) in 4955 Holly Berries, or approximately 216 yd (260 yd, 350 yd, 665 yd)/198 m (238 m, 320 m, 608 m) in any medium weight, acrylic/wool blend yarn.
US Size J-10/6 mm crochet hook, or size needed to obtain gauge.
Bent tip yarn needle.
Gauge
13 HBdc = 4” (10 cm) across. Exact gauge is not critical for this pattern.
