Bruxelles Cardigan
Bruxelles cardigan is a simple knit worked from the top down in the half fisherman’s rib. It is fluffy and airy and therefore very light in weight. After knitting the classical raglan increase, the cardigan is divided in sleeves and body. First, you’ll finish the body part and add a band at the bottom end. Then, you’ll continue with the sleeves. Lastly, you’ll pick up stitches along the right and left front and add a button-band and buttons.
Keep in mind that the yarn from Rowan (Alpaca Classic) weighs 25g (120m)/ball. You’ll therefore need:
3-6 months (6-12 months) 1-2 years: 4 balls
3-4 years: 6 balls
5-6 years (7-8 years): 7 balls
Needles: 3,5mm & 4mm circular needles and 3,5mm & 4mm DPNs
You’ll also need a tapestry needle, scrap yarn and 6-8 buttons (15mm).
Chest width:
3-6 months: 52cm
6-12 months: 58cm
1-2 years: 63cm
3-4 years: 68cm
5-6 years: 74cm
7-8 years: 80cm
