New option!
I have a new suggestion on this pattern, the hat is worked from bottom up, and if you prefer a brown stem on top, you could do the last 5 rows in brown.

Ok so i made an example! (See photos)
Since i have no babies, I made a pumpkin head hat for my 18” doll instead. I did use this pattern but altered it just a bit so it would fit my doll, but at least you can see what the brown stem looks like.
I will be writing the doll pattern up and will be posting it soon, so keep a look out for it!
